This PR shows the final changes if #112 is merged into #111, and the latter is merged into
main. This helps external reviewers (e.g., @antoniocapelo @sandrina-p @lukad) have a complete look on everything, and can skip the internal review between these 2 PRs (@dragidavid and @thien-remote).It's worth to emphasise that we will extract the V1 parts (anything that is not under "next") into a different PR after everything is approved for merge.
