Networked LED application fitting into 32K RAM

What is meant here by "LED application"? How is it related to networking?

@pfalcon I think this is old and better to close this issue.

RPL Border Router sample application (#980 and #5035) PR's are still under WIP. It's all depends on how many leaf nodes we want support and which boards are capable for it. Right now we are trying with frdm-k64f with cc2520 wired. But we noticed some issues with pinmuxing (#5274). We can figure it out what is the minimum memory footprint only after this sample is in good shape with at-least one working board.

@rveerama1: Well, not I created this ticket, so not me to close it, up to @laperie.

Myself, I think that while there're still stability/functionality issues with IP stack, we should start thinking about optimizing it already (well, at least start assessing footprint issues) - the competition doesn't sleep, so we need to prepare to deliver. So, I'm only happy to see that other people also (were) thinking about the optimization, so I'm triaging such tickets (assigned "optimization" label), and asking for clarifications to better understand what kind of optimizations are interesting to stakeholders.

This is about the only issue which talks something about size optimization! Otherwise we just grow more and more bloat...
