Multiple Databases

I really like the Idea and functionality so far. I would love to have the possibility to connect to multiple different databases and servers to gather data for displaying in my application. This would make it a lot easier to give some self service to less technical colleagues.

Thank you for your fast reply. I basically figured out the same by linking the servers. It is not sexy, but it works for my case!

Wouldn't using the "USE database_name" function solve the problem?

The easiest way to connect to multiple databases today is to open a connection from one database instance to another. More information on this discussion thread: #48

Just checking in to ask if multiple database support natively in sqlpage is still on the radar ?

I tried to use roapi based on discussion in #48, but it is nowhere near being usable because of multiple issues in roapi

1. MySql not supported (the available docker builds).
2. I havent been able to get it to connect to postgres database either, and their docs are not clear if postgres is supported by default or needs custom builds.
3. When using the roapi's postgres wire protocol and connecting to it (with some test json & csv files), basic postgres operations like declaring variables using the with testvars(var1, var2) as (values(1, 2)) do not work as roapi doesn't have those tables. And by the looks of it my guess is with vars is not going to work with postgres database either even if I manage to connect it. For any usecase beyond simple tests, variables would be a very necessary function and doesn't look like this will be workable with roapi.

With all this, I am still keeping my fingers crossed for native multiple database support in sqlpage !
