Configuring M10

Hi!

I am totally lost, how can i configure my M10 to do this:
I might need to use VALSET, but don't know the exact commands and values...

• Change baud rate to 38400
• Enable GPS, Glonass, Galileo
• Set refresh rate to 5Hz
• Use only UART1 to output UBX messages only
• Navigation rate to 1
• PVT rate to 1
• And save this into RAM, BBR

And a question: baud rate 38400 enough to GPS+Galileo+Glonass at 5Hz or on 10Hz?

If you're only outputting NAV-PVT, then 38400 baud should be OK. PVT is 100 bytes. At 10Hz, that's (roughly) 10000 bits per second.

I am not sure in this line... It's define UART1INPROT, its mean UART1 IN? So i need use instead UART1OUTPROT to get UBX messages OUTPUT?

Its need to able to config with UBX command? So need to configure IN and OUT protocol too?

myGNSS.setVal8(UBLOX_CFG_UART1OUTPROT_NMEA, 0); will disable the NMEA protocol for output on UART1. You will only see UBX messages from then on. It is the same as myGNSS.setUART1Output(COM_TYPE_UBX);

I have one more question, then I won't bother you anymore:
First i need to enable UBX IN to be able configure the module like this?:
myGNSS.setVal8(UBLOX_CFG_UART1INPROT_UBX, 1);

Then i need to enable UBX messages on UART1 Output to get messages ?:

myGNSS.setVal8(UBLOX_CFG_UART1OUTPROT_NMEA, 0);

Whit theese line i disable the NMEA messages and does it automatically switch to ubx?

With this library, you need to leave both UBLOX_CFG_UART1INPROT_UBX and UBLOX_CFG_UART1OUTPROT_UBX enabled. If you disable either one, the library will not be able to communicate with the GNSS. Either the GNSS will ignore incoming UBX messages, or the GNSS is prevented from outputting UBX messages and replies.

NMEA has its own INPROT and OUTPROT settings. There is no "automatic switching". It is enabled or it is not...

I tried it... Works fine. But i stuck at this point: i used the Example33_NAVSAT info

In the setup phase i enale all constallation:

myGNSS.enableGNSS(true, SFE_UBLOX_GNSS_ID_GPS);  
myGNSS.enableGNSS(true, SFE_UBLOX_GNSS_ID_SBAS); 
myGNSS.enableGNSS(true, SFE_UBLOX_GNSS_ID_GALILEO); 
myGNSS.enableGNSS(true, SFE_UBLOX_GNSS_ID_GLONASS);

After i run the example, in the serial monitor i see only GPS+SBAS+GALILEO, but GLONASS not showned in the list
What did i wrong?

And how can i get the Satelites in Use number?

Another Strange thing: i set this:

So i disable all, but when i query the
satelites = myGNSS.getSIV();

satelites got numer, its say 10-15 satelites in view... But how if i disabled them?

Hi @jan5650 ,

The latest u-blox modules (e.g. ZED-X20P) do not support GLONASS. But I think the M10 does support GLONASS. Maybe it is not available or is being blocked where you are?

You need to leave one GNSS enabled. It is 'illegal' to disable all constellations. The module is probably leaving at least one GNSS enabled.

I understand that it is possible that even if I disable all of them and leave one enabled...

However, I still don't understand why satelites = myGNSS.getSIV() gives only back only 15-16 satellites. SIV, don't know how many used from this pool :(

With this many satellites enabled, how many would be expected? 25-30? If it only uses Galileo and GPS, how many would be considered good for two constellatio?

Remember "SIV" is actually numSV - - Number of satellites used in Nav Solution. "Satellites In View" is an old term. getSIV is so named for backward compatibility... (Haven't we discussed this before? Or maybe I've had the same discussion with someone else...)
