I'm assuming that the next release is 1.0.2, but maybe it will be 1.1...
It's not part of the source code, and only used for testing.
If they aren't specified anywhere, they don't get included in the tarball made by `make dist`.

Maybe this is not too important as it appears you're using GitHub's release machinery. In any case, this fixes the automake setup so that running
make distcorrectly builds a tarball out of the source tree.
