pytest 8.4 release plans

8.3 was released in July 20th, seems like it would be nice to heave a 8.4 release soon, as we have some nice new improvements slated for the next release.

Looking at the milestone, the only standing issue is dropping Python 3.8 in #12875.

Is there anything else someone would like to get in before we release 8.4?

Change the absolute paths in the output to relative paths:

• raise FixtureLookupError
• --junit-xml=junit.xml and pytest.mark.skip

The discussion itself lacks follow-up updates, so it’s in a WIP state.
Could you briefly evaluate whether it should be included in 8.4?

I can do the release this weekend. From the discussion above and the milestone I understand there is a remaining open task about "StopIteration", I haven't followed the details, but is it a blocker? If it is, is the blocker just a pluggy release like @graingert said? If so, is there anything blocking the pluggy release? (I can do that as well).
