1. settings => word wrap = off
2. type long text
3. observes it still wraps

Would you mind sharing a brief overview of what your proposed solution might look like before getting started? I just wanted to confirm it case it might conflict with one of the larger projects we're hoping to minimize new changes to and wrap up on soon! In the case that it does, we might put this issue on hold until it's complete!

Hi! Thanks for getting back to me.
I wanted to share what I’ve investigated so far:

When toggling the word wrap setting, the Redux state updates (I can see the value changing), and the toggle UI reflects the correct ON/OFF state.

However, unlike other preferences (e.g., font size), the editor itself does not actually apply the word wrap change it remains stuck in the same wrapping mode regardless of the toggle.

Also, I noticed that toggling word wrap does not trigger the backend '/preferences' API call, whereas other preferences do.

Based on comparing the behavior of other preferences, it seems likely that for word wrap, the part that calls updatePreferences() may not be getting invoked, or the toggle handler might be dispatching a plain action instead of the thunk.

I’d like to look into how the toggle handler is wired up to ensure it dispatches the correct thunk action (setLinewrap()), which should both apply the editor setting and trigger the backend API call.
