Cannot install MacOS version

“You can install the app using Homebrew (see the cask definition)” - the cask definition link is broken.
Trying the command:

brew install pear-devs/pear-desktop

Output:

brew install pear-devs/pear-desktop

To install hey-desktop, run:
  brew install --cask hey-desktop

Downloaded DMG file. MacOS says the app is damaged. Following instructions below:
"If you install the app manually and get an error "is damaged and can’t be opened." when launching the app, run the following in the Terminal:
/usr/bin/xattr -cr /Applications/Pear\ Desktop.app"

Terminal output is:
xattr: No such file: /Applications/Pear Desktop.app

Don't know how to fix it. Or is there any other way to install Pear on macOS?

Ok, I know an alternative for downloading the app. Go here and scroll down to assets, then you can download its dmg file directly from there.

And yes, although this method does work, the installation error of homebrew still needs to be fixed.

I already tried that, it's in my original post. My Mac says the app is damaged and the terminal command does not solve it.

hey @makeyeu , I think their CLI command is wrong. Can you try this after installing manually?

/usr/bin/xattr -cr /Applications/YouTube\ Music.app

There's an open PR (#4096) that mentions this.

@alany411 yeah that works, have myself tried that and had raised PR(#4090 ) to make the changes in readme file.
But, it is more of a temporary solution, I think developers. are currently trying to remove name of "Youtube" to be safe from copyright issues.

Yeah. It seems the latest release builds were not built with the new workflows yet which is why the README command is incorrect. New release builds will probably work since the app name will be actually be Pear Desktop.

@alany411 Will try the command, thanks. Also hoping the brew install method will get fixed, so i would be able to update through the terminal seamlessly everytime.
