Samples at jspdf.com do not work on IE8

I just went to the sampels webpage using IE8 and the basic samples do not work. It gives error on line 816 btoa is undefined

This is because the IE shim is disabled by default.

I'd like to know as well. The jspdf.com page says that it supports IE6+, but does not provide any information on how to actually support IE6+.

Apologies, the shim is missing from this release candidate, there's some old code which used Downloadify. I hope to pluginize it and document it very soon. Lack of docs is something I'll be working on too.

Should it even be possible to generate the raw data in IE8? Because that doesn't seem to work either due to this error:

Uint8Array is not defined
jspdf.js line: 1707 char:5

That's new code that was added to support BlobBuilder. It's not required for the generation of the file.

Is generating a dataURI at all possible in ie8? I would think if we can at least get the raw data from .output() we should also be able to make a datauri.

You can't make a data URI no. You can pass it into Downloadify, which will prompt a file download.

ok, thanks, do we have to detect if on ie <= 9 manually and use downloadify instead of doc.save or is it all done behind doc.save?
