Just found this. I'm -1 on simulating mutability at the EA level. (IIRC we discussed this on ArrowStringArray or something). Swapping-out should happen at the Series/DataFrame (or Manager) level.

Sounds like this relates to #45419 since this is done because the self._data: pa.ChunkedArray is immutable.
