Does it make sense to allow remote spaces to be associated to a local repository?

Yes. However, we could consider mechanisms to control how spaces are exported. At current stage of the implementation, this mechanism are not completely clear for me. For this reason I close this issue and open a new one where the task is listed as a possible enhancement.
