Description
NetBox version
v2.10.8
Feature type
Data model extension
Proposed functionality
I'd like to add a "Type F" selection to existing "BNC" port type for coaxial cable.
I believe this can be done with only changes to the netbox/dcim/choices.py file.
Use case
We have small, old sites where data is distributed over pre-existing coaxial (cable TV) cables using MoCA. The cables are brought into our patch panels and then patched to various MoCA devices. We're currently calling these 'BNC' connections, which is an acceptable workaround.
Now, we're going to be adding real 'BNC' connectors to the overall system, and we'd like to be able to keep those separate. Adding a "Type F" selection would let us record the actual configuration of the MoCA systems.
