I faced the same/similar situation on my netbox installation...

python 3.12
Netbox v4.0.9
pynetbox 7.4.0

I found same issue. The problem was that I had a wrong URL variable. I missed the "s" in "https" in the URL variable in the .env file.
After changing the URL variable, the script worked fine for me.
