This PR is related to #38346 but only targets the
9.0branch as thefirstOrNew()andfirstOrCreate()methods on theBelongsToManyrelationship were updated in9.0(#37337) to be functionally the same as the equivalent methods inBuilderandHasOneOrManyclasses.
