Rename repository

Since the current repo name contains the number 5, we should rename it for 6.0. Since the junit4 repo used to be called junit that name should be considered taken because claiming it would break existing redirects from https://github.com/junit-team/junit to https://github.com/junit-team/junit4.

That's very generic, not a favorite of the team at the moment, and probably why it's last in the list.

Though, we discussed terms like "current", "next", "future", etc. and decided against a time-based (or novelty) name.

To me it sounds like advantage rather than a limitation. When JUnit 5 released 8 years ago, it was fundamentally different from JUnit 4 with lot of breaking changes at API level. so needed separate repo and identification. Whereas JUnit 6 going to remain API compatible with JUnit 5. So junit as repo seems perfect choice.

Most likely this redirect will break CI(if still junit repo name used). if internet search lands on junit instead of junit4, I feel it is great win because everyone learns about latest changes.

so my vote go with 'junit'.

Biased by AssertJ and Spring Boot 🙃 although it's "hidden" and not the actual repo name

Team decision: Since we're unsure about potential repercussions (in addition to links to JUnit 4 issues suddenly pointing to JUnit 5/6 ones) of renaming it to junit, we have decided to go with a different name. Out of the above proposals, we like junit-framework best since JUnit is a testing framework and the JUnit 3 packages also used that term.
