Side note: it's actually pretty cool you can just toggle the "Debug mode" flag in the UI and get logging output, without changing your app code at all 🎉 |

This re-implements parts of the reverted #46447.
I split this up into two PRs, one just changing the config, one where I will do the fixes to the loader script itself.
