Endpoint to Get all Stored Scripts

Description

Currently, there is only an endpoint to retrieve a script by ID. Is it possible to add an endpoint that allows the retrieval of all stored scripts ? GET _scripts. This would help with backup and retrievals

@brusic It's actually not necessary. I just read the documentation from Opensearch and you can get the information from the cluster state.

I just read the documentation from Opensearch and you can get the information from the cluster state.

I always assumed this functionality made its way into the codebase by now, which is one of the reasons why I have not kept the PR up to date. Besides, I have long stopped working on the project that I needed this for.

I'd like to ask that we revisit this enhancement request, because the solution proposed earlier in this thread doesn't work on Elastic Cloud Serverless.

I foresee that stored scripts will become increasingly important in Elasticsearch. Scripts are required for search templates, which are required for search applications, which I expect will grow in adoption because they can be managed in the Kibana UI. Both of these provide important abstractions for security, reusability, and separation of concerns.

Being able to list stored scripts on Elastic Cloud Serverless will ensure that they can be properly managed in that environment, such as knowing what scripts have been created that are available to be used, or finding and removing orphaned scripts so they don't consume resources or become inadvertently used.
