Consider showing inline hints to the right side of the cursor

    Could we somehow get the hint to be on the other side of the cursor? I think that would help not only this case but usability in general.

I don't understand. I'm not sure how the position of either the cursor or the caret should be related to where the hints are displayed.

Well arguably this cursor jumping is annoying:

Maybe if we manage to show fewer hints in general, this will be not a big deal. I created this issue just to not randomize the other one :)

That is not the only issue with the placement of the cursor. Another one is:

If you want to actually type something in front of the : hint, you have to type it after, which is quite weird.

So I think if we fixed this it would eliminate both issues.
