Description
What a disappointment - I found this page and thought 'Wow, a real walkthrough!" But the content isn't up to date for Visual Studio 2022, nor is it up to date for .NET 6.0.
- "Select Signing on the left pane of the Properties screen, and then select the Sign the assembly check box. In the dropdown for Choose a strong name key file, select New." THERE IS NO SUCH DROPDOWN BOX.
- "In the Create Strong Name Key dialog, under Key file name, type key.snk. Deselect the Protect my key file with a password check box, and then select OK." As there is no such dialog, this is pretty difficult.
- "In Solution Explorer, expand the Properties folder and select the AssemblyInfo.cs or AssemblyInfo.vb file. In the code editor, add the following attribute to the file:" There is no AssemblyInfo.cs, and no information as to how to get the following information:
[[assembly: ImportedFromTypeLib("")]] correctly into the .csproj file properly.
This article was purportedly written on 7/29/22 - not that old.
