This is an experimental POC, and is very-much a work in progress (if I decide the idea makes sense).
I wasn't originally planning on proposing this API for dask/dask (or dask-expr), but I suppose it could make it easier to remove/replace legacy IO code if the new logic was essentially
dd.from_arrow_dataset(dataset: pyarrow.dataset.Dataset).Note: The GPU-backend version of the code would essentially override
FromArrowDataset.read_fragments.
