do we want to add this text and link to the other "Lag and Backfill" sections in hhs.md, quidel.md, covid-act-now.md, nchs-mortality.md, google-symptoms.md, dsew-cpr.md, and _source-template.md?

Thanks for pointing this out! The "Lag and Backfill" text and link reference a blog post that discusses medical insurance claim records specifically. So, correct me if I'm wrong, but for the following the link is not needed because:

hhs.md - data is actual hospital admissions
quidel.md - data is test results
covid-act-now.md - data is test results
nchs-mortality.md - is based on death certificate data
google-symptoms.md - is based on search data
dsew-cpr.md - is part of the public health surveillance stream

But,
_source-template.md - maybe worth noting in template that if a source uses medical insurance claim records and sees backfill Delphi blog link should be referenced.

Corrections/thoughts welcome!

You're totally right -- i should have read the referenced blog article first before assuming that it was a generic explanation of backfill. Editing the template is not a bad idea!
