Correct formatting issues and simplify text.
Add examples and documentation sections and misc edits.
Delete old README.md and point setup.py to new README.rst

I wrote a new README in reStructuredText and in a more narrative format, and updated package to reference the README.rst.
This should make the package more approachable on GitHub and more visually appealing on PyPI.
