GitHub Bot Help

/bot [-h] ['run', 'kill', 'skip', 'reuse-pipeline'] ...

Provide a user friendly way for developers to interact with a Jenkins server.

Run /bot [-h|--help] to print this help message.

See details below for each supported subcommand.

run [--reuse-test (optional)pipeline-id --disable-fail-fast --skip-test --stage-list "A10-PyTorch-1, xxx" --gpu-type "A30, H100_PCIe" --test-backend "pytorch, cpp" --add-multi-gpu-test --only-multi-gpu-test --disable-multi-gpu-test --post-merge --extra-stage "H100_PCIe-TensorRT-Post-Merge-1, xxx" --detailed-log --debug(experimental)]

Launch build/test pipelines. All previously running jobs will be killed.

--reuse-test (optional)pipeline-id (OPTIONAL) : Allow the new pipeline to reuse build artifacts and skip successful test stages from a specified pipeline or the last pipeline if no pipeline-id is indicated. If the Git commit ID has changed, this option will be always ignored. The DEFAULT behavior of the bot is to reuse build artifacts and successful test results from the last pipeline.

--disable-reuse-test (OPTIONAL) : Explicitly prevent the pipeline from reusing build artifacts and skipping successful test stages from a previous pipeline. Ensure that all builds and tests are run regardless of previous successes.

--disable-fail-fast (OPTIONAL) : Disable fail fast on build/tests/infra failures.

--skip-test (OPTIONAL) : Skip all test stages, but still run build stages, package stages and sanity check stages. Note: Does NOT update GitHub check status.

--stage-list "A10-PyTorch-1, xxx" (OPTIONAL) : Only run the specified test stages. Examples: "A10-PyTorch-1, xxx". Note: Does NOT update GitHub check status.

--gpu-type "A30, H100_PCIe" (OPTIONAL) : Only run the test stages on the specified GPU types. Examples: "A30, H100_PCIe". Note: Does NOT update GitHub check status.

--test-backend "pytorch, cpp" (OPTIONAL) : Skip test stages which don't match the specified backends. Only support [pytorch, cpp, tensorrt, triton]. Examples: "pytorch, cpp" (does not run test stages with tensorrt or triton backend). Note: Does NOT update GitHub pipeline status.

--only-multi-gpu-test (OPTIONAL) : Only run the multi-GPU tests. Note: Does NOT update GitHub check status.

--disable-multi-gpu-test (OPTIONAL) : Disable the multi-GPU tests. Note: Does NOT update GitHub check status.

--add-multi-gpu-test (OPTIONAL) : Force run the multi-GPU tests in addition to running L0 pre-merge pipeline.

--post-merge (OPTIONAL) : Run the L0 post-merge pipeline instead of the ordinary L0 pre-merge pipeline.

--extra-stage "H100_PCIe-TensorRT-Post-Merge-1, xxx" (OPTIONAL) : Run the ordinary L0 pre-merge pipeline and specified test stages. Examples: --extra-stage "H100_PCIe-TensorRT-Post-Merge-1, xxx".

--detailed-log (OPTIONAL) : Enable flushing out all logs to the Jenkins console. This will significantly increase the log volume and may slow down the job.

--debug (OPTIONAL) : Experimental feature. Enable access to the CI container for debugging purpose. Note: Specify exactly one stage in the stage-list parameter to access the appropriate container environment. Note: Does NOT update GitHub check status.

For guidance on mapping tests to stage names, see docs/source/reference/ci-overview.md
and the scripts/test_to_stage_mapping.py helper.

kill

kill

Kill all running builds associated with pull request.

skip

skip --comment COMMENT

Skip testing for latest commit on pull request. --comment "Reason for skipping build/test" is required. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is dangerous since lack of user care and validation can cause top of tree to break.

reuse-pipeline

reuse-pipeline

Reuse a previous pipeline to validate current commit. This action will also kill all currently running builds associated with the pull request. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is dangerous since lack of user care and validation can cause top of tree to break.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

A duplicate detection mechanism is introduced for waive list entries. A new pre-commit hook invokes a script to identify and report duplicate entries in waives.txt separately. Two SKIP entries are removed from the waives file.

Changes

Cohort / File(s) Summary
Pre-commit configuration
.pre-commit-config.yaml
Added local pre-commit hook "waive list check" that runs ./scripts/check_test_list.py --check-duplicate-waives without passing filenames.
Waive duplicate detection
scripts/check_test_list.py
Added check_waive_duplicates(llm_src) function to detect and report duplicate entries in waives.txt to dup_cases.txt. Added --check-duplicate-waives CLI flag. Modified main() to conditionally invoke duplicate detection and run dependency installation only when required.
Waive list updates
tests/integration/test_lists/waives.txt
Removed two SKIP entries: accuracy/test_disaggregated_serving.py::TestQwen3_8B::test_auto_dtype[False] and test_e2e.py::test_ptp_quickstart_multimodal_chunked_prefill.

Estimated code review effort

🎯 2 (Simple) | ⏱️ ~10 minutes

  • The pre-commit configuration addition is straightforward
  • The script changes introduce a new function with clear duplicate detection logic that is independent from existing waive processing
  • The waives.txt modifications are simple deletions
  • Overall homogeneous nature of changes with minimal interaction points between components

Tip

📝 Customizable high-level summaries are now available in beta!

You can now customize how CodeRabbit generates the high-level summary in your pull requests — including its content, structure, tone, and formatting.

  • Provide your own instructions using the high_level_summary_instructions setting.
  • Format the summary however you like (bullet lists, tables, multi-section layouts, contributor stats, etc.).
  • Use high_level_summary_in_walkthrough to move the summary from the description to the walkthrough section.

Example instruction:

"Divide the high-level summary into five sections:

  1. 📝 Description — Summarize the main change in 50–60 words, explaining what was done.
  2. 📓 References — List relevant issues, discussions, documentation, or related PRs.
  3. 📦 Dependencies & Requirements — Mention any new/updated dependencies, environment variable changes, or configuration updates.
  4. 📊 Contributor Summary — Include a Markdown table showing contributions:
    | Contributor | Lines Added | Lines Removed | Files Changed |
  5. ✔️ Additional Notes — Add any extra reviewer context.
    Keep each section concise (under 200 words) and use bullet or numbered lists for clarity."

Note: This feature is currently in beta for Pro-tier users, and pricing will be announced later.

114-153: Clear or truncate dup_cases.txt before appending duplicate reports.

The function appends to dup_cases.txt (line 144) without clearing it first. Across multiple invocations (e.g., repeated pre-commit runs), duplicate reports will accumulate, leading to stale or redundant entries in the file.

Prepend file truncation before the loop:

 def check_waive_duplicates(llm_src):
     """Check for duplicate entries in waives.txt and write report."""
     waives_list_path = f"{llm_src}/tests/integration/test_lists/waives.txt"
     dup_cases_record = f"{llm_src}/dup_cases.txt"

+ # Clear any previous duplicate reports
+    open(dup_cases_record, "w").close()
+
     # Track all occurrences: processed_line -> [(line_no, original_line), ...]
     dedup_lines = {}

152-152: Remove extraneous f prefix from string literal.

Line 152 uses an f-string without any placeholders.

Apply this diff:

-                f.write(f"\n")
+                f.write("\n")

Based on static analysis hints.

241-243: Clarify comment to match the actual flag name.

The comment at line 241 refers to --check-duplicates, but the actual flag is --check-duplicate-waives.

Apply this diff:

- # Only skip installing dependencies if ONLY --check-duplicates is used
+ # Only skip installing dependencies if ONLY --check-duplicate-waives is used
     if args.l0 or args.qa or args.waive:

Learning: In TensorRT-LLM, `tests/integration/test_lists/waives.txt` is specifically for waiving/skipping tests, while other test list files like those in `test-db/` and `qa/` directories are for different test execution contexts (pre-merge, post-merge, QA tests). The same test appearing in both waives.txt and execution list files is intentional - the test is part of test suites but will be skipped due to the waiver.

Learning: For PR templates in TensorRT-LLM, avoid suggesting changes that would increase developer overhead, such as converting plain bullets to mandatory checkboxes. The team prefers guidance-style bullets that don't require explicit interaction to reduce friction in the PR creation process.

Timestamp: 2025-09-09T09:40:45.658Z
Learning: In TensorRT-LLM test lists, it's common and intentional for the same test to appear in multiple test list files when they serve different purposes (e.g., llm_function_core.txt for comprehensive core functionality testing and llm_function_core_sanity.txt for quick sanity checks). This duplication allows tests to be run in different testing contexts.

Timestamp: 2025-07-22T08:33:49.109Z
Learning: In the TensorRT-LLM waive list merging system, removed lines are always located at the end of the merge waive lists, which is why the mergeWaiveList.py script uses reverse traversal - it's an optimization for this specific domain constraint.

.pre-commit-config.yaml (1)

1463-1467: LGTM on hook configuration.

The pre-commit hook configuration correctly invokes the duplicate check script with --check-duplicate-waives and sets pass_filenames: false appropriately.

Note: This hook depends on the fix for the args.check_duplicatesargs.check_duplicate_waives bug in scripts/check_test_list.py (line 297).
