How to build the project on a local Linux/Unix/etc. system

hi! How to build the project on a local Linux/Unix/etc. system ? the .github actions YAML files are large (are they generated?) Should I use https://github.com/nektos/act ?

The entire project was done on the action, so I don't have a make file of any kind. A PR is welcome to introduce one which shouldn't be too hard.
