Based on feedback from the core team, this replaces the more advanced topic "String Under The Hood" with a Go Further entry about the type system.
Most WWDC sessions from Swift's early days that cover these concepts are no longer available and have outdated code examples that are no longer valid Swift or assume significant knowledge of UIKit which is not suitable for a general Swift audience.
The best existing swift.org or Apple resource for this topic that I could identify is the Structure and Classes chapter of The Swift Programming Language.
