Requesting Update To Date Library Against Native Ones

Problem Statement

Hello,
We have some nice features and fixes on the native library side but can't use them if we're using the Kotlin multiplatform one, because of linking issues and incompatibility.

The evolution on the native side break the compatibility with the KMP and make it less desirable.

How do you plan to regularly update the KMP library to always have a valid one?

Hey we currently do not have a specific system in place regarding updating the native libraries.

The only reason there haven't been more updates is because I am more busy with other products at Sentry unfortunately.

Though I do not see an issue with updating it more frequently / updating it once every two weeks or something like that.

I just think you should add a CI task to check binary compatibility between the KMP one and the native one.

At least, it will you help to monitor the issue.

Update: my bad, you have one, I guess it's manual one?

@francoisdabonotcaps our CI automatically fails anyway when it's not compatible, we just have to check more often :D

Btw I'm working on updating the Cocoa SDK right now. There has been some internal API changes in Cocoa so I'll have to adjust the KMP SDK
