Suggestion: DMX control

Just thought I'd suggest reading some control data in via the lightning protocol "DMX" making musicbeam in effect appear to lighting control software as if it is an ordinary fixture.

This would make it an integrated part of a bigger show and perfectly synchronised with everything else going on

Thanks for reaching out. DMX support has been suggested multiple times in the past. However, since it's not available yet, you can guess that no one has ever put in the effort to actually implement it.

I, personally, don't have the time nor interest to do it. The primary audience for this tool is enthusiasts, not professionals. That being said, I don't mind accepting a pull request for this feature; I just can't write it myself.

Has MIDI clock been discussed as a way of syncing BPM ? I know some DJ software (for example) uses that protocol

No worries. I am happy that there are so many enthusiastic users. In regard to MIDI, yes, it has come up, but again, no one has implemented it yet :/
